Scholarship
and Culture Exhibition Education Fair

Monday of March the 26th
until Tuesday of March 27th
year 2012, Satya Wacana Christian University held a Scholarship and
Culture Exhibition Education Fair Seminary placed in Balairung Utama
(BU) of Satya Wacana Christian University. The seminary was talked
about abroad scholarship, cross cultural, campaign of faculties in
Satya Wacana Christian University and presentation of lectures who
attended school abroad. The seminary also set some, so if the
participants want to know more, they can come to the stands for the
detail. When each presentation ended, the committee gave the
participants chances to asked question. The committee also made such

The
seminary opened by The Head of Satya Wacana Christian University, Mr.
John Titaley, continued by ED Voice as the opening performance. After
that, there was presentation from Satya Wacana Christian University’s
promotion staffs.
The
first agenda of the seminary was faculty’s presentations, which
start by Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (FKIP, Education
Faculty), Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis (FE, Economy and Business
Faculty), and Fakultas Teknologi Informasi (FTI, Technology and
Information Faculty). One by one, they promoted their faculty to high
school students who attended the seminary. After that, there were
presentation of the scholarship institutes, Prasetiya Mulia and EASE
participants.
Prasetiya
Mulya is the first business school in Indonesia which offers the
Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The vision of
Prasetiya Mulya is outstanding learning partner for principled*
business leaders *principled business leaders: business leaders who
have intellectual and moral virtue. The mission of Prasetiya Mulya is
to develop business leaders to make meaningful contributions for the
well-being of societies.
Prasetiya
Mulya has a scholarship program named BIZCAMP Challenge. BISCAMP
Challenge Scholarship Competition program is a competition for the S1
fresh graduates and S1 university students in the final grade from
some well-known universities in Indonesia. The purpose of BIZCAMP is
finds the new talents as future business leaders who have strong
character. In the BIZCAMP, participants should an innovative business
proposals and social and environment project activities. After that,
the seminary took a break for about a half hour for the seminary
participants.
The
seminary begin again by presentation from faculties, there were
Fakultas Theologia, Fakultas Hukum (FH, Law Faculty), Fakultas Sains
dan Matematika (FSM, Science and Mathematics Faculty) and Fakultas
Teknik Elektronika dan Komputer (FTElektro, Electronics and Computer
Faculty).
The
next presentation was a cultural sharing from three Korean students
who studied in Indonesia. They presented about Korean culture, such
as Korean traditional clothes named Hanbok, Korean music instruments
(example: gayageum), and Korean food (example: kimchi, kimbab) and
K-Pop (example: Big Bang, 2NE1).
The
last presentation was presentation from lectures who studied abroad,
there were Henry Wijaya who studied in Columbia University and
Respati N Wardhani who studied in Stuned.
The
last day of seminary was started by presentation from IDP. IDP is an
organization of Australian International Education which is
independent and one of the owner and organizer of IELTS test. IELTS
(International English Language Testing System) is test to testing
the capability in English which owned together by British Council,
IDP: IELTS Australia and University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations.
IELTS is important for whom who want to study in the country which
using English as their national language, as well as the migrants.
IDP owned and represented all universities in Australia and some
education institutions. IDP prepares complete information for whom
who wants to study in Australia.
The
next presentation was a presentation from Fakultas Ilmu Kesehatan
(FIK, Health Faculty). Then, the presentation continued by lectures
presentations. The first lecture was Toar Sumakul who studied in
Liverpool, United Kingdom. The next lectures who presented their
experienced in study abroad was Anne Timotius who studied in
Australia and Adita who studied in Japan.
The
next presentation was faculty presentations, there were Fakultas
Psikologi (FPsi, Psychology Faculty), Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra
(FBS, English Department), Fakultas Biologi (FB, Biology Faculty) and
Fakultas Pertanian dan Bisnis (FPB, Business and Agriculture
Faculty). After the faculty presentations, the seminary took a break
for about a half hour for the seminary participants.
The
seminary continued by cultural sharing from Japanese students. The
Japanese students were presented cooking demo. They made ikayaki,
people in the seminary try to tastes their meal. They said that
Japanese foods was a healthy foods, it contains of so many nutrient
which was good for human body, such as sushi which contains high
protein to human body.
The
last presentation was from Australian Government, there was
AustralianEducation International (AEI). AEI is one of the Department
of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education
(DIISRTE), Australia. AEI activities:
- Indonesia and Australia cooperation in education and training.
- Build academic relationship, research, training in another education institutes in Australia and Indonesia.
- Spread the information about Australia Government Scholarship in Indonesia.
- Build the cooperation relationship program interschool in Australia and Indonesia.
